Modified Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation in cold collisionless plasma
Nonlinear electromagnetic wave propagation through cold collisionless plasma in (2+1) dimensions is studied using the nonlinear reductive perturbation method. It is shown that to the lowest order of perturbation, the system of equations can be reduced to modified Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation.

Divergenceless expression for the energy-momentum tensor of scalar field is obtained using the momentum cut-off regularization technique. We consider a scalar field with quartic self-coupling in a spatially flat (3+1)-dimensional Robertson-Walker space-time, having arbitrary mass and coupled to gravity. As special cases, energy-momentum tensor for conformal and minimal coupling are also obtained. The energy-momentum tensor is observed to exhibit trace anomaly in curved space-time

The nonlinear Schrödinger equation which governs the dynamics of two-dimensional spatial solitons in Kerr media with periodically varying diffraction and nonlinearity has been analyzed in this paper using variational approach and numerical studies. Analytical expressions for soliton parameters have been derived using variational analysis. Variational equations and partial differential equation have been simulated numerically. Analytical and numerical studies have shown that nonlinearity management and diffraction management stabilize the pulse against decay or collapse providing undisturbed propagation even for larger energies of the incident beam.
