Recurrences of strange attractors
E J Ngamga A Nandi R Ramaswamy M C Romano M Thiel J Kurths
The transitions from or to strange nonchaotic attractors are investigated by recurrence plot-based methods. The techniques used here take into account the recurrence times and the fact that trajectories on strange nonchaotic attractors (SNAs) synchronize. The performance of these techniques is shown for the Heagy-Hammel transition to SNAs and for the fractalization transition to SNAs for which other usual nonlinear analysis tools are not successful.

Dynamics of excitable nodes on random graphs
K Manchanda T Umeshkanta Singh R Ramaswamy
We study the interplay of topology and dynamics of excitable nodes on random networks. Comparison is made between systems grown by purely random (Erd˝os–Rényi) rules and those grown by the Achlioptas process. For a given size, the growth mechanism affects both the thresholds for the emergence of different structural features as well as the level of dynamical activity supported on the network.
