The modified free-energy averaged potential for water vapour is extended to NH3 vapour. The resulting temperature-dependent parameters are used to compute the second virial coefficient of NH3 vapour which agrees with experimental results particularly at higher temperatures.

The effective potential is used to calculate the sound velocity of water vapour. The agreement between theoretical and experimental values confirms the validity of the effective potential.
Volume 17 Issue 2 August 1981 pp 159-162 Liquids
The effective potential is used to calculate the viscosity of complex polar vapours like water and ammonia. The agreement between theory and experiment confirms the validity of the effective potential.
