Effects of torsional loading in an axisymmetric micropolar elastic half-space are studied. The components of microrotation displacement, force stress and couple stress are obtained for a half-space subjected to an arbitrary load produced by shearing stress. A special case of a particular type of twist has been discussed in detail for a specific model and the micropolar effects have been shown graphically.

The effect of liquid on the propagation of waves in a micropolar elastic layer with stretch has been investigated. The frequency and wave velocity equations for symmetric and antisymmetric vibrations are derived. Propagation of monochromatic waves in a micropolar elastic layer with stretch is discussed. Results of this analysis reduce to those without stretch.

In the present investigation, we discuss two different problems namely
Rayleigh-Lamb problem in micropolar generalized thermoelastic layer with stretch and
Rayleigh wave in a micropolar generalized thermoelastic half-space with stretch. The frequency and wave velocity equations for symmetric and anti-symmetric vibrations are obtained for the first problem. The frequency equation has also been derived for the second problem. The special cases of the above said problems of micropolar generalized thermoelasticity with stretch for Green-Lindsay and Lord-Shulman theory have been discussed in detail. Results of these analysis reduce to those without thermal and stretch effects

The components of radial displacements in solid and liquid parts of a liquidsaturated porous medium with spherical cavity subjected to an arbitrary time dependent force have been obtained. Laplace transform technique has been used to solve the problem. Numerical calculation has been performed for two specific models. Variations of displacement in solid and liquid parts of the medium have been shown graphically.

Dispersion equation is derived for the propagation of Rayleigh type surface waves in a liquid saturated porous solid layer lying over an inhomogeneous elastic solid half-space. Effect of heterogeneity on the phase velocity is studied by taking different numerical values of heterogeneity factor for particular models. Dispersion curves have been drawn showing the effect of heterogeneity on the phase velocity.

Propagation of surface elastic waves in a cylindrical bore through a micropolar elastic medium with stretch is analysed in two cases. In the first case, the cylindrical bore is considered empty while in the second case, the bore is filled with homogeneous inviscid liquid. In both the problems, period equations are obtained in closed form. The problem of Banerji and Sengupta [2,3] has been reduced as a special case. Numerical calculations have been performed for a particular model and results obtained are presented graphically. It is noticed that the effect of micropolarity on dispersion curve is significant while the effect of micro-stretch on dispersion curve is not appreciable.

Microrotation effect of a load applied normal to the boundary and moving at a constant velocity along one of the co-ordinate axis in a generalized thermoelastic half-space is studied. The analytical expressions of the displacement component, force stress, couple stress and temperature field for two different theories i.e. Lord-Shulman (L-S) and Green-Lindsay (G-L) for supersonic, subsonic and transonic velocities in case of mechanical and thermal sources applied, are obtained by the use of Fourier transform technique. The integral transforms have been inverted by using a numerical technique and the numerical results are illustrated graphically for magnesium crystal-like material.
