An interesting series of some sulphur-bonded unusual bicoordinated thallium(I) complexes of the type TIL (where L is the anion of a monobasic bidentate thiosemicarbazone) has been obtained by the equimolar reactions of thallous chloride with the sodium salt of the ligands (thiosemicarbazones) derived from the condensation of heterocyclic aldehydes or ketones with thiosemicarbazide. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, conductance measurements, molecular weight determinations and electronic, IR,1H and13C NMR spectral studies.
