Histidine as a catalyst in organic synthesis: A facilein situ synthesis of α, N-diarylnitrones

α, N-diarylnitrones were synthesized by the reduction of a mixture of nitro-and benzaldehyde derivatives with zinc dust using histidine as a catalyst.
