Isotopic exchange behaviour of nickel xanthate is studied in presence of three isomeric toluidines at 25°C. The results show that the complex becomes labile in the kinetic sense in presence ofm- andp-toluidines. The complex displays inert behaviour in the presence ofo-toluidine and it is ascribed to dominant steric effect.
