Two complexes, diaquabis[2-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)pyrazinato]-Copper(II) (1) and Cobalt (II)(2), aresynthesized by microwave irradiation. These complexes are characterized by IR, PXRD, SEM-EDX, andTGA-DTG studies. Single crystal studies of complex 1 are carried out to reveal its octahedral structure.Hirshfield analysis is conducted to show the hydrogen bonding interactions. TGA\DTG data revealed that thecompounds decompose in three stages at 600°C. The complexes exhibited photocatalytic activity bydegrading methyl orange, methylene blue, and congo red dyes. The synthesized compounds were evaluatedfor their biological potentials against DNA binding studies on calf thymus, DNA Cleavage activity onpBR322 plasmid DNA in the absence and presence of H2O2. Anti-bacterial activity is shown by both the complexes. Molecular docking is done to show the effective inhibition of bacterial proteins.
In this paper, we present two complexes, diaquabis [2-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl) pyrazinato]-Copper (II) (1) and Cobalt (II) (2), synthesized by microwave activation. They are characterized by spectral methods to confirm their structure. The complexes also degrade the dyes in the presence of UV. The complexes bind well to ct-DNA, cleave DNA, and exhibited anti-bacterial activity. Molecular docking is performed to show the effective inhibition of bacterial proteins.
