The performance of the redox storage battery based on the Fe-Cr redox couple is studied in charging and discharging modes of the system. The stability of each charged species is determined by measuring the variation of half-cell potential with time. The spectra of the electrolytes are recorded before and after charging of the system. The effect of atmosphere on the charged species has also been investigated.

Semiconducting molybdenum trioxide thin films have been prepared by employing simple and inexpensive spray pyrolysis technique. Films are found to be polycrystalline in nature with hexagonal phase. Optical band gap energy (direct) and room temperature electrical resistivity are of the order of 2·9 eV and 108 ohm-cm, respectively. These films exhibit cathodic electrochromism.

WO3 thin films have been prepared by employing spray pyrolysis technique. Photoelectrochemical (PEC) cell was formed using WO3 thin film as a photoanode and 0·1 M Na2SO4 as an electrolyte. Different physical parameters of the PEC cell such as flat band potential, donor density, hole diffusion length and band gap energy were determined by using Gartner’s model.
