    • Abstract

Two novel metal-organic coordination polymers $ [Cu_{2}(bpp)Cl_{2}]$ (1) and $[Cu_{2}(bpp)_{2}SO_{4}]$·DMF·$3H_{2}O (2) were prepared from the reactions of 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane (bpp) with $CuCl_{2}$ and $CuSO_{4}$,respectively, which were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, elemental analysis, IRspectroscopy and powder X-ray diffraction analysis. 1 features inorganic one-dimensional $ [Cu_{2}Cl_{2}]$ ribbons, which are linked by the bpp ligands to form a three-dimensional metal-organic framework exhibiting a 3,3,4-connected 3-nodal topology. 2 presents $[Cu_{2}SO_{4}]$ inorganic dinuclear secondary building blocks which are furtherconnected by the bpp ligands to construct a two-dimensional framework featuring flask-stacking appearance. They are typical examples of metal-organic framework constructed by the synergistic use of organic andinorganic linkers.
