    • Abstract

Ultrasonic, volumetric and viscometric investigations have been conducted on adenosine base at three different temperatures 303·15, 308·15 and 313·15 K. The partial molal volume φv0, partial molal compressibility φk0, the viscosity coefficientB of the Jones-Dole equation and the solute activation parameters ΔU, ΔS and ΔH have been calculated. An attempt has been made to explain the changes in water structure when a co-solvent is added. Further, the results of viscosity experiments are tested in terms of transition state theory.
