    • Abstract


      Organostannyl 2-(arylazo)benzenecarboxylates have shown great promise in inhibiting the growth of Gram-positive bacteria. A possible explanation for the structure-activity relationship (SAR) has been discussed through an intercalation mechanism. The intercalative binding mechanism finds support from spectral, chemical as well as X-ray computer molecular modelling evidences. An interpretation of the activity against various microorganisms has also been made in the present investigation.
