    • Abstract

       

      Solid complexes of a-oximinoacetoacetanilide thiosemicarbazone (OAATS) with Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II), Mn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II) and UO2(II) have been prepared and characterized on the basis of their elemental analyses, conductivity, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, infrared and electronic spectral measurements, in conjunction with magnetic susceptibility measurements. Molecular orbital calculations employing the CNDO/2 method have been made for a number of conformations of the ligand molecule to ascertain the most stable one.
