Abstract
Various ways in which the anisotropy can be used to understand ultrafast processes are presented and discussed. Examples include molecular reorientation, energy transfer between identical systems, excitation dynamics in polymers, reactant product alignment, protein dynamics and internal motions in fluxional molecules.
