    • Abstract


      The interaction of Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Co(II), Mg(II) and Ca(II) ions with cytidine and amino carboxylic acids (EDTA, NTA and IMDA) in a 1∶1∶1 ratio have been investigated by potentiometric equilibrium measurements at 35°C and 0·10 M (KNO3) ionic strength. These investigations were undertaken to assess the influence of the secondary ligands on the structure and stability of the 1∶1 metal-cytidine system. The stabilities of ternary and binary complexes are compared and stabilization factors are explained.
