    • Abstract

Hydrazinecarboxylate derivatives of rare earth elements Ln(N2H3COO)3-3H2O (Ln=Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Yb, and Y) and UO2(N2H3COO)2·N2H4·H2O have been prepared and characterized by chemical analysis and infrared spectra. Simultaneous TG-DTG-DTA of the rare earth complexes show that the thermal decompositions occur through carbonate and oxycarbonate intermediates to the respective oxides. The oxide formation temperatures are lower than the corresponding oxalates and acetates. The uranyl complex decomposes to U3O8 as the final product of decomposition.
