    • Abstract

       

      The optical absorption spectrum of nickel antipyrine complex has been studied both at laboratory and liquid nitrogen temperatures. The spectrum is characteristic of Ni2+ in an octahedral crystal field. A good fit between theoretical and experimental band positions is obtained for the following crystal field parameters:Dq = 940 cm−1,B = 795 cm−1, C = 4.7B.
