    • Abstract


      A new MgV2O6 phase having brannerite (ThTiO6) related structure is obtained by solid state reaction and its x-ray powder diffraction and thermal studies are discussed. These studies confirm a structural transition at 833 K for non-stoichiometric magnesium metavanadate. The phase transition is reversible and the two forms of MgV2O6 have a closely related crystal structure.
