A novel Ce$_{0.8}$Sm$_{0.2}$O$_{2-{\delta}}$–Pr$_{0.6}$Sr$_{0.4}$FeO$_{3-{\delta}}$ dense dual-phase ceramic membrane was obtained via an initial one-step EDTA–citrate complex synthesis. This membrane presented an enhanced CO$_2$ permeation, than other Sm-doped CeO$_2$ containing membrane systems. It can be attributed to the excellent homogeneity of the crystal phases, distribution and integration produced by the synthesis method, as well as to the high oxygen ionic diffusion properties know for the perovskite phase (Pr$_{0.6}$Sr$_{0.4}$FeO$_{3-{\delta}}$ ).
