A component of biosensor was prepared based on vanadium pentoxide xerogel (V$_2$O$_5$) and glucose oxidase (GOx). GOx was immobilized on V2O5 to obtain V$_2$O$_5$/GOx thin film. V$_2$O$_5$/GOx thin film was deposited onto an indiumtin-oxide-coated polyethylene terephthalate film as substrate. The immobilization of the enzyme GOx on V$_2$O$_5$ was crosslinked by covalent bonds. After immobilization of GOx, an increase in total charge was observed. The rugosity factor indicated a 0.125 of electrochemically active surface of V$_2$O$_5$/GOx with low porosity. V$_2$O$_5$/GOx thin film presented a sensibility in different concentrations of glucose as well as a good linear correlation.
