INSA-AASAA joint workshop on "Women in Science, Education and Research"

During the Second Summit of South Asian Science Academies at Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi, a joint INSA – AASSA (Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia) meeting on "Women in Science Education and Research" was held on 24 September 2014.
Professor KrishanLal, President, INSA and Professor Doe Sun Na, Vice President, KAST were the co-chairs of this meeting.

Swadeshi Vijnana Andolana-Karnataka jointly with B.V.B. College of Arts and Commerce, UG and PG, organized the Fifth National Women's Science Congress at B. V. B. college, Bidar between 7-9th, November 2012. Focal theme of the congress was on 'Women in Education'.


Fourth National Women's Science Congress

Swadeshi Vijnana Andolana-Karnataka jointly with M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) organized the fourth national women's science congress at MSRIT, Bengaluru on November 7, 2011. Focal theme of the congress was on 'women in engineering, technology enterpreneurship and industry'.


Third National Women's Science Congress

Swadeshi Vijnana Andolana-Karnataka jointly with Davangere University, Davangere organized the third national women's science congress at Davangere University from 7-10 November 2010. Focal theme of the congress was on the 'Women's Leadership in Education and Research'.


National Seminar on 'E K Janaki Ammal and her contribution to Indian Science'.

The seminar was organized by the National Musuem of Natural History at Thalasseri, Kerala on November 04, 2010.


International Conference of Women Mathematicians

The conference was held at University of Hyderabad between August 17-18, 2010. This was held two days prior to the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM 2010)


Leadership Challenges for Professional Women

This was a training programme organized by the Centre for Organization Development (COD), Hyderabad for women executives, between December 14-18, 2009. The main agenda was to develop skills and attitudes for enhanced role effectiveness and try to understand how women become leaders.


Second National Women's Science Congress

Swadeshi Vijnana Andolana, a Karnataka Unit of Vijnana Bharati and Matru Vedike (Women Scientists Forum) jointly with All India Institute of Speech & Hearing (AIISH), Mysore organized the second National Women's Science Congress at AIISH, Mysore between November 7 - 9, 2009. The focal theme of the congress was 'Need for Women Leadership in Science & Technology'.


National Conference on Socio-Economic Development: Challenges before Women Scientists, Technologists and Engineers

The Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, Orissa organized a three-day national conference on the socio-economic development scenario in India and the importance of the role of women scientists and technologists in this developmental process. The conference was held at NIT between February 13-15, 2009.

National Women's Science Congress - Towards encouraging and empowering women scientists

Vijnana Bharati, Bengaluru had organized a three day conference under their National Women's Science Congress programme. This was held between November 7 - 9, 2008 at the SB Arts & KCP Science College and BLDE University, Bijapur.

Book release function of 'Lilavati's Daughters: The Women Scientists of India' and Symposium on Women in Science

The book Lilavati's Daughters: The Women Scientists of India was released during the inaugural session of the 74th Annual Meeting of the Indian Academy of Sciences on 31st October, 2008. There was a symposium on women in science with a panel discussion on 1st November, 2008 during the annual meeting.


A National Seminar on Socio-Economic Development: Challenges before Women Scientists, Technologists & Engineers (CWSTE 2008)

This is the first announcement of the seminar. The seminar intends to provide a common platform women scientists and technologists to interact and discuss their role and activities for taking up challenges in promoting social and economic development of our nation. The seminar will be held in National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Orissa. The date of the seminar is yet to be decided.

The Third IUPAP International Conference on Women in Phyiscs (ICWIP 2008)

The Third IUPAP International Conference on Women in Phyiscs (ICWIP 2008) was held during October 8-10, 2008 in Seoul, Korea. ICWIP 2008 is dedicated to the presentation and discussion of the latest developments and ideas regarding the status of women physicists in world-communists.
