Information regarding the various job opportunities available can be obtained by browsing the internet with specific searches of your interest. Most search engines like Google, Yahoo will allow these kind of searches.

The following are some of the options which are worth exploring:

  • Many institutions and organizations advertise jobs in their websites.
  • Institutions funded by the Department of Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology, Council for Scientific & Industrial Research, Department for Health Sciences, Indian Council of Medical Research, Department of Atomic Energy, Defence organizations, Education and Research organizations advertise job opportunities.
  • Several reputed universities have good research departments and these universities also advertise.
  • Employment News also carries information on the job opportunities of these various organizations, institutions and universities.
  • International journals like Science, Nature, The Lancet, etc., advertise job openings. Societies like American Chemical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry, IEEE, etc., also provide job advertisements.
  • Indian journals like Current Science, Indian Journal of Medical Research provide advertisements. Most of the leading newspapers publish job advertisements of several centres.
  • For Pharma/Biotechnology industries follow some of the publications like Biospectrum India which advertise for jobs at times.
  • In addition it may be worthwhile to send in your CV with a request for job to the Heads of the Institutions.
  • Dept. of Science & Technology provides scholarships to Women Scientists and Technologists under their Women Scientists Programmes.
