R Srinivasan was the former director of Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore and at present a visiting Professr with the Laser-cooling Group, Raman Research Institute

Andal Narayanan is a scientist working at the Laser-cooling Laboratory at Raman Research Institute.

A brief review of the work of the three Nobel Laureates -- Alexei A Abrikosov, Vitaly L Ginz- burg and Anthony J Leggett is presented. Their work forms the basis for understanding the phenomena of superfluidity and superconductivity.
