The Clay that Cures

N Bejoy is presently working as a Junior Research Fellow in the Department of Chemistry, IIT Madras. His research interests include the preparation, properties and applications of porous inorganic compounds. Creative writing, naturopathy and music are his other interests.

Hydrotalcite (HT) is an anionic clay found in nature. It has a variety of pharmaceutical applications. This article focuses on the versatility of this compound in the prevention and cure of peptic ulcer.
