Journal of Genetics
CLASSICSEspecially in its earlier decades, many papers that had a lasting impact on the fields of
genetics and evolution were published in the Journal of Genetics. Many of these papers
are not very easily available now. Consequently, starting with the April 2004 issue,
we will reprint one such classic paper in each issue of the journal, along with
an accompanying commentary that discusses why the paper is felt to be a
'classic', and placing the work in the context of the present situation in that field.
Members of the genetics community worldwide are most welcome to contact the
Editorial office with suggestions/proposals for such classic papers from the Journal
of Genetics to be reprinted, for which they are willing to write the commentary.
